Happy Earth Day!
In honor of #earthday I am sharing a zero-waste food recipe with you.
But first, let’s talk food waste.
Food waste is a big problem. In the US, 63 million tons of food are wasted every year. Food waste accounts for 21 % of all fresh water in the US and takes up 21% of the landfill. It releases a methane gas that is 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide and it exhausts our natural resources like water, gas, energy, land, labor, and fertilizers to produce it. We need to be more conscious of what food we buy and how we use it before it goes bad.
I had some carrots that were about to go bad, and I was not feeling like eating them with hummus. I wanted something sweet and then I remembered my carrot cake energy bites! What better way to celebrate Mother Earth Day than with my carrots that were about to go bad and my NutraMilk machine.
I love partnering up with companies that are committed to supporting a sustainable lifestyle. My NutraMilk machine is a zero...
