In honor of #earthday I am sharing a zero-waste food recipe with you.

But first, let’s talk food waste.

Food waste is a big problem. In the US, 63 million tons of food are wasted every year. Food waste accounts for 21 % of all fresh water in the US and takes up 21% of the landfill. It releases a methane gas that is 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide and it exhausts our natural resources like water, gas, energy, land, labor, and fertilizers to produce it. We need to be more conscious of what food we buy and how we use it before it goes bad.

Pasta Alfredo Recipe from our Clubhouse Room


Our Clubhouse room on Friday was lit!! We veganized some recipes, answered questions, and met a lot of amazing peeps! If you're on Clubhouse, make sure you join our Club, Plant Chics!

We ended our Room with a challenge to create a recipe using three ingredients:

White beans

Kalamata olives


We could take this any direction, and someone mentioned pasta, so I decided to make this into a pasta Alfredo. And it does not disappoint.

This creamy pasta Alfredo is really good. The balsamic veggies that I paired it with was the perfect combination of creamy umami richness with a hint of sweet from the balsamic. It was a delicious party in my mouth!


1/2 c cashews (soaked in water for at least 3 hours; discard the water)

1/2 c white beans

3+ cloves of garlic (adjust to your tastebuds)

1/4 t salt

1/4 t black pepper

1/2 t oregano

1/4 c kalamata olives

4 c greens (I used spinach and protein greens)

3 c mushrooms (I used portobello)

Pasta of your choice (I used brown rice pasta)

Jacque's Morning Routine


My morning routine actually starts the night before. You read that right: the night before. I lay my workout clothes out the night before so I literally don't have to think about what to put on for my workouts.

After I go to the bathroom and turn off my alarm, I head to the kitchen to drink 16 - 32 oz of water. This wakes up my system in the morning and gets my body going, if you know what I mean. LOL

I digress...after hydrating I do my workout. I change up my workout every day - from weights, yoga, pilates, active living, to walking/running outside. I'm currently in the last week of LIIT and I'm feeling the burn! 

I'm ready for my hydration after my workout. So more water is definitely happening, but this is also when I make an Ultimate Elixir for both me and my husband. It's the evolution of the multivitamin and we have both been taking it for 2 years. My husband has mentioned (multiple times) that he hasn't been...

Top Six Picks at Whole Foods


Whole Foods use to be known as "whole paychecks". Not anymore!! Especially if you have Amazon Prime.

Here are my Top 6 Picks:

  1. For healthy in a hurry, I love their organic pre-made salad mixes. I may not use all of the toppings or salad dressings in them, but I love these for their ease of preparation! I usually buy two each time I go to Whole Foods. I usually go to whole foods twice per week.
  2. Organic greens. Holy variety!! I get a different box (or bag) of greens every visit. Today I was craving arugula and I needed spinach for a dish I'm making this week so I grabbed a mix of spinach and arugula. Stay close to our blog because we will be posting recipes later this week!
    1. I use 1 - 2 handfuls of greens with 1/2 the bag of the pre-made salads.
    2. PS - whole foods prices on greens is way better than the competition.
  3. Chipotle Bitchin Sauce is soooooo good! And with Amazon Prime you can save significantly!! #winning I use this on my salads as a dressing. But it's not an every day use...

“Usually I would never do a fast, because I live a healthy lifestyle, BUT now at 45, the middle age middle is a real thing. I was starting to gain weight in my waist and look square. My waist went from my normal 27 inches to 33 inches.

I am pretty disciplined in my healthy lifestyle but I knew my metabolism was slowing down due to age. My skin texture on my face went from oily to dry. My supple hydrated thick skin on my body started showing signs of thinning and a loss of collagen. I had cellulite on my calves and my triceps due to my thinning skin. I knew I had to do something.
