Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to those who are father's! And to the mothers who are also fathers! We love and appreciate you!

I am in Las Vegas, celebrating my sister's graduation from Oriental Medicine. She is now studying for her boards, and when she takes them she will be an Oriental Medicine Doctor (OMD). It's great that her graduation fell near my birthday and Father's Day because it has been non-stop celebrating since I arrived Wednesday. Today is all about Dad and it's been fun laughing and talking about so many fun memories. (I love hearing his childhood stories.)

Marzia and Keith are moving back to Dallas as I type this. They're excited to get back "home" - to their friends, to their environment, and to Keith's parents. Marzia has always been super involved in charity functions and she's really looking forward to getting back into them.

Watermelon Sugar High

Marzia did her first YouTube Live and she made a couple delish items with one of our favorite fruits that's in season this month: watermelon! So here are the healthy-in-a-hurry recipes for:

  1. Watermelon popsicles
  2. Watermelon coolers

Watermelon Popsicles

  1. Cut up watermelon.
  2. Fill blender with watermelon. Blend well.
  3. Pour into popsicle containers. Put lids on popsicle container and place in freezer for 3 - 4 hours, or overnight. Enjoy!

Watermelon Cooler Mocktail

  1. Cut up watermelon.
  2. Fill blender with watermelon and blend well.
  3. Add mint leaves to taste. Blend.
  4. Add chilled (or frozen) watermelon cubes to glass, pour watermelon mint blend in glass (about 1/2 full), top with sparkling water and garnish with mint. Enjoy! 

optional: add splash of vodka for a tasty cocktail. #drinkresponsibly

Fast with Marzia

Usually I would never do a fast because I live a healthy lifestyle, BUT now at 46 the middle age middle is a real thing. I was starting to gain weight in my waist and look square. My waist went from my normal 27 inches to 33 inches.

I am pretty disciplined in my healthy lifestyle but I knew my metabolism was slowing down due to age. My skin texture on my face went from oily to dry. My supple hydrated thick skin on my body started showing signs of thinning and a loss of collagen. I had cellulite on my calves and my triceps due to my thinning skin. I knew I had to do something.

We can’t postpone aging, but we can try preventive things as we go through life.
