“Usually I would never do a fast, because I live a healthy lifestyle, BUT now at 45, the middle age middle is a real thing. I was starting to gain weight in my waist and look square. My waist went from my normal 27 inches to 33 inches.

I am pretty disciplined in my healthy lifestyle but I knew my metabolism was slowing down due to age. My skin texture on my face went from oily to dry. My supple hydrated thick skin on my body started showing signs of thinning and a loss of collagen. I had cellulite on my calves and my triceps due to my thinning skin. I knew I had to do something.

We can’t postpone aging, but we can try preventive things as we go through life. I have been into anti-aging for the past 10 years and decided to read the book The Longevity Diet about fasting for anti-aging and it peaked my curiosity.   1. KISS. Keep it Simple Sweetheart. Most of us spend way too much time ruminating about the past, worrying about the future, and/or reacting to the present. The more mindful you are, the more comfortable you are just being. Picture the typical overstressed brain as a salmon swimming upstream. Then imagine you tell that salmon to flip over on its back and try floating for a while. Now hand that salmon a margarita. Mindfulness is like a happy hour you can access anytime of the day – and it will never leave you with a hangover.
