5 Self Improvement Tools

At Plant Chics, we are all about self improvement. but what exactly does self improvement mean?
/ˈˌself əmˈpro͞ovmənt/
  1. the improvement of one's knowledge, status, or character by one's own efforts.

If you're interested in self improvement, a great place to start is with the way you think. Joe Dispenza - along with many other scientists - have written books detailing how our thoughts are powerful. He writes, "if we can turn on the stress response by thought alone, then our thoughts can literally make us sick. But if your thoughts can make you sick, is it possible that your thoughts could also make you well?"

There are many aspects of self improvement, and you've come to the right place to get a snippet of some areas where you can start working on yourself to #LevelUp in life. At Plant Chics, our main interests around self improvement are in the health and wellness space (which is a huge category), plant based nutrition (and nutrition in general), fitness, beauty, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

Let's break these down and talk a little about each one.

Health and Wellness

We've been in launch mode for the past several months, so our main area where we have needed a little extra has been in stress management. Marzia is obsessed with her Calm app. I get a lot of use with Insight Timer, but I've recently been exploring more on breath work. 

Breath is life. And there are certain breathing techniques that can help calm you down, energize you, help you sleep, and everything in between. I did a 21 Day Breath work course and it was nothing short of amazing. 

I did some breath work in this yoga flow. I highly encourage you to check it out. It's linked to when the breath work starts. You have to let me know how you like it!

Personally, I'm also interested in learning more about energy work (chakras, crystals, grounding...this is a topic for another blog) and I'm going to be digging into a few courses around this topic in the near future. #staytuned

Nutrition and Fitness

First, if you're not doing LIIT with us, what are you waiting for?

Be like Lisa, and show up in the Tribe and share your nutrition and fitness wins for the day. She has a really good point about being able to do the LIIT workouts quietly - they are all low impact so there isn't any jumping around. #winning

We not only provide 30 different workouts for you over 4 weeks, but there are also over 100 new recipes, and workbooks that focus on your mindset which is all about self improvement.

After this round of LIIT, I am going to try a 21 day raw food challenge. I've never done one before and want to see how I feel. Fun fact: Marzia was "raw" when she first switched to a plant based diet.  She lived in Dallas and when it got cold, her body told her she need to eat some warm food

Some of the best things you can do for your skin health is consuming the proper nutrition (#eatmoreplants), staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and eating hydrating foods, washing your face after working out, never sleeping in make up, and seeing a good Dermatologist.

Marzia gets regular facials and laser treatments. I need to up my facial and laser game because I'm not getting any younger...lol.

You know what else negatively affects skin health? Stress and sugar. <insert all of the meditation tools we mentioned above. 😊 >

Refined sugar is inflammatory which isn't good for the skin (or our health). What is refined sugar? It's the sugar that's found in cookies, cakes, pies, doughnuts, candies, etc.

Fruit is ok! The sugar that is in fruit is natural and it's bound to fiber. We promise you - fruit is good for you and your skin! Fruit is also very hydrating, so it's good for your skin on many levels.


This is an area where we are still learning. A lot. We've learned a lot from our friends at various Veg Fests, and we are recently obsessed with Shelbi and her super informative YouTube videos

What is the first thing you think of when you think about sustainability? More than likely recycling is the first thing that comes to mind. It was high up on our list too. After watching some of Shelbi's videos, we've both really started seeing where we could reuse

This can be a little overwhelming at times, but here are a few ways we try and reuse:

This is an area where we are on an upward trajectory. The past several months have been hard. Growth is tough. Entrepreneur life isn't for the faint of heart - it is exhausting and you have to love what you're doing. If you don't love it and believe in it to your core, then when the sh*t hits the fan, you won't get back up and keep going.

It also helps to have an incredible business bestie who helps keep you on track too.

Marzia is currently finishing a course on affiliate marketing (it's sooooo good!!). If you're looking for a side hustle that takes little-to-no start up monies, you may want to look into affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is great because it allows you to work with amazing brands and products, and you don't have to create them. But this course has the secret sauce and it teaches you how to combine affiliate marketing with sponsored ads to create passive income.

It belongs to me and is used how I choose.
I thank the Universe in advance and focus on the abundance I already have.
And the overflow of abundance on its way.
I will be surprised at the speed and ease at which it manifests into my life.
I expect the money to come to me within a few hours, but no more than 3 days. 
And so it is.
