Hack your metabolism with Lumen!
We have been sharing our numbers from Lumen and we are getting a lot of questions, so we know we need to share our feedback and experience on how we are using Lumen and hacking our metabolism!
But before we get into that, let me explain what Lumen is. Lumen is the world’s first hand-held, portable device to accurately measure metabolism. Once available only to top athletes, in hospitals and clinics, metabolic testing is now available to everyone.

You know we know that challenges are a great way to keep yourself (and lets be real, ourselves) motivated and engaged in a healthy lifestyle. We had great energy from everyone doing Fit to Feast and we are super psyched for 12 Days of Fitmas to start on December 13th!
The number one thing we hear from you is that you want to lose weight. And what so many of you do to try and lose weight is cardio.
While cardio is good, lifting weights is what really makes a difference in toning and tightening your body, which will also result in weight loss.
As women, it's imperative we light weights. Lifting isn't only for building strength, lifting is also needed for healthy bone density. After the age of 30, our bone density can decrease by 10% per decade if we aren't doing weight bearing exercises and strength training.
So that adage if you don't use it, you lose it has never been more appropriate!

I am a proud stage mom! Watching my girl Heather compete is like watching my favorite football team: it is nerve wracking!
The over 40 class had a lot of women in it this year, in fact this was the most I have ever seen in a bikini competition! I love that so many women over 40 are competing. I was so happy for Heather, but not surprised, when she was called out for the Top 5.
My heart jumped out of my chest when they called the top 3. I am so proud of Heather for placing 2nd at the WBFF in Miami!
Heather is such a joy to work with and I love watching how excited she got placing 2nd. She is such a grateful human being and she truly sends out the good vibes energy!
After the show we went out for a delicious and well deserved feast and she shared three things she learned from the competition this time (it's her third comp):
We are wrapping up week two of Fit to Feast, and starting week three of our 21 day challenge! Marzia was with me last week, so it was fun to do our #fittofeast workouts together. I'm going to miss being able to do them with her this week, but I will make them happen.

We are making our pumpkin curry recipe from our Plant Chics Lifestyle. It's super easy to make and you can dress it up a couple different ways.
Pumpkin and sweet potatoes are rich sources of Vitamin A and lutein. Pumpkin is also a great source of zeaxanthin. These nutrients are protective for your eyes and can help protect you from Macular Degeneration which is the leading cause of blindness in the US.
Not only is this dish good for your eyes, it's also a great source of fiber which is good for your gut microbiome. If you have downloaded our Plant Tracker, this recipe gets you a whopping 8 unique plants! #Boom
1 tbsp low sodium veggie broth
1/2 yellow onion
2 garlic cloves
1 1/2 tsp curry 1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 cups coconut milk (full fat)
1 cup water
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree
1 large sweet potato, diced
1 cup lentils (dry) or 2 cups cooked...
Y'all! If you didn't know, I hate cold weather. Unless I have skis attached to my feet. It's been in the 30s and 40s in Dallas in the mornings, and I don't have skis on my feet, so....
I'm hopping on a plane tomorrow and heading to sunny Miami. I'm excited to walk on the beach and bask in the sun while Jacque and I do some work.
